Ok… So the title sounds intimidating right? You may be surprised to know that people actually do a whole YEAR of the “no spend challenge”. That’s impressive.
So, why do a No Spend January? Well, I’m 26 years old and don’t have a savings account, so that’s something, right? #realtalk But also, I have SO MUCH STUFF. I don’t *need* anything else. My boyfriend would agree.
I think there’s nothing better than a great start to a new year and a HUGE part of self love and care is making smart decisions and whether we like it or not, the way we spend our money has a lot to do with that.
Ok. Now, let’s talk about how I’m going to do this, the stipulations, and everything else!
What I *can* buy: food, gas, the basics… not the fun stuff.
What I *can’t* buy: clothes, accessories, services like manicures, fast food, anything that’s not necessary.
Of course there is the possibility that I’ll slip up or have a craving for Mexican food… but I am going to try my hardest not to. Any suggestions would be welcome! I’ve never tried to do this before!
I challenge you to join me on this No Spend journey if you want to start off the year with some extra money in your bank account. I think the first week will be the hardest, but then it will (hopefully, maybe, idk) get easier.
